Meet the Optometrist

Dr. Steven Downs is proud to be the new owner of Villa Park Optometry. Founded 45 years ago, Dr. Steve recently purchased the practice in 2019 and is excited to serve this community for many years to come. He graduated with from Western University College of Optometry in 2018 and is an active member of the American Optometric Association (AOA), California Optometric Association (COA), and Orange County Optometric Society (OCOS).

Including comprehensive eye care, Dr. Steve focuses primarily on specialty contact lenses and ocular disease. In particular, he works with patients suffering from corneal diseases such as keratoconus, pellucid marginal degeneration, and damaged corneas from refractive surgery or corneal transplants. He also has a passion for Myopia control and fits ortho-keratology, a lens that is only worn while you sleep!  In his free time, Dr. Steve likes to stay active with backpacking, golf, skiing, and traveling with his wife, Jennifer.
